Your typical day, what's it like?
Every day is so different, which is one of the reasons I love my job. I may be visiting my communities and my Sales Reps one day, and reviewing marketing pieces and model presentations the next.

The highlight of being a Sales Manager is watching the results of my mentorship efforts on my staff. The impact one person can have on another is something I take very seriously.

Tell us about your best day on the job? What made it so special?
The first time I sold a home. I realized how significantly the couple's lives changed that day, and the huge part that I played in the process. They had many choices, but chose Ryan Homes. The couple bought another Ryan home seven years later in a community that I now manage. They asked about me, and when they found out I was the Sales Manager they sent me a card with a photograph of their two children. That was a great day!

How does NVR support your career advancement?
Everyone I have ever worked for has been an excellent role model, coach and leader. They provide me with the tools, feedback or resources to increase my knowledge and advance my career. The opportunity to learn and grow at NVR is limitless.

What would you say is the ONE thing you enjoy most about working at NVR?
The people! People at NVR truly care about each other. Relationships are built on trust, respect, and friendship. I feel very lucky to be surrounded by such a dynamic group of individuals.

Talk a little about job freedom.
Being a Sales Manager entails a tremendous amount of freedom. You spend time in the office, touring communities, shopping the competition, attending meetings in and out of the office. You manage your own time, and the job is as autonomous as you want it to be.

What would you tell someone to convince them to choose a career in homebuilding? What would you tell someone to convince them to choose NVR?
This industry is very exciting, challenging and rewarding. NVR is the leader in the industry in many ways. I have many friends, relatives, and business associates who work (or have worked) for different builders. Even they have to acknowledge that NVR is a truly unique and special place. The training … growth and career opportunities … the support and resources … our company reputation and strong financials … stock performance …these are all powerful advantages!
